ABSTRACT
The onset of AIDS/HIV disease has had an enormous impact on the clients and staff involved in methadone maintenance as a drug treatment modality. This article reports on some of the counseling issues that have arisen in a hospital based methadone maintenance treatment program located on the west side of Manhattan.
