ABSTRACT

This paper presents the life story of a fifty-three year old social worker from a Mexican American migrant family as he struggled to get an education, come to terms with his gayness and heal the wounds that he received in life. He reflects on the various stages of his life identifying major themes and strengths. In many ways this is the story of the price he paid to be and become an authentic self.
