ABSTRACT
There used to be a happier epoch for reviewers attempting the seemingly impossible task of reviewing the oeuvre of a pioneer in a particular field of academic knowledge. S/he would start with a list of all that the pioneer had written on the subject, briefly outlining each project and then proceed to conclude with a sketched map of the impact the oeuvre had had on the discipline itself.
