ABSTRACT

This article will discuss the philosophy and structure of a Social Adult Day Care Program (ADC) which has been developed to moti vate, encourage, and refer for rehabilitation elderly persons who are impaired as a result of the aging process. It is based on a concept of caring for the elderly who may be frail, isolated, or in need of socialization, and it enables families to keep elderly persons at home for as long as possible. A second goal of the ADC is to main tain the health and independence of “ healthy” seniors.
