ABSTRACT

For the past three years the Occupational Therapy assistants at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center have been involved in com puter-assisted therapy for perceptual and cognitive retraining. In the

past microcomputers have been utilized in therapy as games or as diversional therapy. More recently, however, increasing numbers of software programs have been written to assist with treatment or rehabilitation programs. These software programs can assist the therapy team with evaluation, treatment, Pre-Vocational testing and training and can be incorporated into traditional treatment modali ties to enhance the effectiveness of care provided by occupational therapists.
