ABSTRACT
In recent years, tango dancing in the city of Buenos Aires has become the preferred space for occasional social encounters among people from different spots around the globe. The economic, political, and social conditions of the first decade of the twenty-first century brought major cultural transformations, including a process of “cosmopolitization” that transformed Buenos Aires into a metropolis with transnational social patterns.
