ABSTRACT
The activities and presence of Japanese companies in the EC member states are dramatically increasing. More than a thousand subsidiaries of Japanese companies are now doing business in the area. Since the EC Directives, including the Seventh Directive, also apply to these subsidiaries, Japanese companies cannot be indifferent to the development of accounting harmonization that has been taking place in the EC.
