Society, economy and access to post-secondary studies in Québec

Québec was faced with an important student mobilization during the winter and spring of 2012, known as Printemps érable (an expression derived by comparison to Printemps arabe or the Arab Spring; literally, it means ‘Maple Spring’). This student movement was opposed to a significant increase (+75 per cent) in tuition fees imposed by a provincial government decree.
