ABSTRACT

There are industrial traces to be found around the northern end of the Wayoh Reservoir, Entwistle. The most obvious of these are two lodges (ponds for storing water to ensure a steady flow in times of drought or for storing polluted water pending distribution into local waterways). The two feeder streams at the northern end have been paved for about a mile up their course. When the reservoir is low, retaining walls can be seen and there is a great heap of brick rubble towards the centre — this is the remains of the mill chimney.
