The chapters by Michael Sandel and T. M. Scanlon in this section deal narrowly with the arguments I made in Spheres of Justice, and I will respond to them together. The essay by George Kateb is a radical critique of my alleged radicalism, reaching across most of my work. It requires a separate and more extended response.
