ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with a how-to guide for Artificial Intelligence (AI) leaders who want to help their organizations make a difference in the world with AI for Good. Machine Learning (ML) can be used to automate mass surveillance, and, as people’ll see, this is already happening in various ways around the globe. The root of all AI starts at ground truth with the data. Some countries have relied on for-profit companies to cultivate and make use of these data, primarily for use by advertisers and as clickbait. In retail locations, there is no expectation of privacy as many stores have used a camera system for asset protection for years. Federated learning also presents a practical alternative to moving around huge amounts of data. The input dataset will contain images of potentially many different individuals photographed in different phases of participating in various sports.
