ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the theoretical basis for the creativity identified in individuals who experience dyslexia which has led to an interest in entrepreneurship and dyslexia. The psychologist who assessed Matt at the Children’s Hospital told him that he would be able to achieve anything that he wanted to in life but he would need to work harder than other children to be successful. The vision was planned to extend to include a new company, WeLive, which will introduce the concept of dormitory living for adults in Manhattan and Washington, with gyms and spas attached to address the needs of the whole person. The chapter covers moving from public understanding of entrepreneurs who experience dyslexia through the literature highlighting their role in society and the positive dyslexia movement that has identified the potential of so many individuals who experience dyslexia to adopt this approach in their life and careers, whether or they are highly successful.
