ABSTRACT
To remain relevant for our customers, it is important to innovate everything we do to deliver our services. In 2012, Schuberg Philis embraced Cloudstack as part of those innovations. A vendor agnostic, open-source, high-quality and controlled environment for our Infrastructure as a Service layer. Being part of this community has given us a lot of freedom. It has also taught us that we needed to take things in our own hands and luckily this is possible in open source. In 2016, we decided to fork the Cloudstack code base and continue ourselves. This chapter is originally drafted as a blog post written by Arjan Eriks.
