This chapter, coauthored by playwright Matthew Spangler and cultural consultant Humaira Ghilzai, traces their process of adapting and staging the Broadway production of The Kite Runner and other plays. They focus on the ethics of representation to demonstrate that adaptation is a collaborative act.
