ABSTRACT
This chapter defines observational assessment and discusses strategies for use with couples and families. It describes the Beavers Interactional Competence and Style Scales, the Circumplex Model Clinical Rating Scale, the McMaster Model Clinical Rating Scale, and the Global Assessment of Relational Functioning. Case material illustrates the use of these assessments.
