ABSTRACT

Dance education is a topic of interest to many students, since a studio is a familiar home to them. However, research in this area may be a new experience. The 2001–2003 Research in Dance Education (RDE) study conducted by the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) provided invaluable information on the state of completed research in dance education. In this chapter, we provide a brief description of the study followed by the journey of two undergraduate researchers who explored specific topics including interdisciplinary dance education and student engagement.
