ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the theoretical underpinning of Turner’s Model of Crisis (TMOC) (Schechner, 2003; Turner, 1974). I then explain how I have developed TMOC to contribute to the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma. TMOC may be used as a diagram, table-based tool, and as a movement-based tool. It is suitable for individual, group therapy, and clinical supervision (Winn, 1998, 2016). I provide examples of using TMOC with combat veterans, Alan and Jack (pseudonyms). I include reflections from my PhD research into the use of TMOC. Finally, consideration is given to how you may implement TMOC in your own practice.
