ABSTRACT

Students were newbies not only in writing a story but in learning about education in virtual worlds for the first time as well. Their resulting stories would be narratives of wonder and delight, as in the frequent presence of cats, but later they became amazed to discover the importance of more precious and fragile things like avatars with prosthetics and aborted babies. R. Sanchez explained digital storytelling as tales that consist of digital images, reflective narrative, and music or video “to share life experiences and personal insights”. He suggested, “Digital storytelling serves as a unique way for students to learn about their classmates and as a first step towards building a community of learners”. Digital storytelling in virtual worlds offers three-dimensional building, using different camera angles, and changing day/night operations. They enable discussion with international avatar/real people and discovery of other dynamic international sites.
