ABSTRACT

This chapter considers Venezuela has the new structure to make the accelerated breakthrough like Korea or Brazil. The study of the technological transformation of a country linked to the analysis of the economy's key variables, as proposed by world institute for development economics research methodology, constitutes an excellent platform for any attempted plans in the future. In the case of Venezuela, it was necessary to make several special adjustments. It is a country where, on the one hand, the transformation dynamic has not been linked to the innovation-productivity-economic expansion ratio, but rather to a process through which an income – oil – has determined the dynamics of the goods and services demand. And where, on the other hand, an overvalued money ratio has oriented such a widely diversified demand to the exterior.
