ABSTRACT
The methodological power of performative writing is the focus of this essay. Offering an apology in the tradition of literary apologies and a personal anecdote on behalf of performative writing, the piece first structures its claims in the form of a logical proof. The second part completes the case by offering a short account of how performative writing has functioned within the academy. The essay enacts the performative writing method as it calls for its use.
