ABSTRACT

In this chapter, two exercises were presented to help arts students to be more creative during their sculpture courses: one exercise sought to develop the flexibility and the other tried to improve the social interactions. Based on literature review and previous interviews with professional artists, these two factors appear important for creativity. Twenty-five art students participated, split into two groups: a flexibility group and a social group. We tested the effects of each exercise on the creative process and the multivariate factors (cognitive, conative, emotional, and environmental) involved in it.
