ABSTRACT

Tirena Theatre was founded in 1997. The first Theatre in Education project, Entitled to a Mistake, was produced in 1998. The aim of the project was violence prevention and integration of juvenile offenders into society. On the first day, an invisible theatre scene was played out in a classroom. Introduced by their real-life teacher, a new student was coming to class. Bottom(s up) is a theatre production about under-age drinking. Since its opening night in March of 2016, Bottom(s up) has been performed over 50 times throughout Croatia. Lie is a theatre production which deals with drug addiction. It was made in 2007 and was performed over 200 times. This production talks about everyday situations teenagers find themselves in: fighting with parents, peer pressure, parents who try to control everything, parents who neglect and parties that offer ‘something new.’.
