ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the times that opened certain key spaces, and the roads that led the author to new collaborators who were of central importance, to the author's explorations and social engagements in what she started to call “drama and theatre of participation”. It describes a process of transformation of a small drama studio where, from the very start in 1970, together with the first generations of children who were its true founders, the author wished to create a new kind of theatre – their theatre, a theatre of children’s reality, creativity, and play. In the early 1990s, major social and political changes in Yugoslavia significantly influenced both our everyday life and the deeper consideration of our creative, artistic, and social activities.
