ABSTRACT
93So I became an academic researcher. I suppose that I must be some kind of empiricist. The kind that wants organizational research to originate in empirically usable theory, then try to conjure revised ideas out of the far end of the empirical process, for unexpected concepts are exciting. Which is why I might call myself an empiricist, but do not easily accept others giving me that label when they mean by it someone with no interest in theory.
