ABSTRACT

This chapter is about a wolf who was named MT6 by scientists and Kurti by his fans. It deals with his biography, or rather the construction of a non-human biography by humans and how that can be interpreted. The chapter also deals with the topic of individualization, and introduces another perspective that strengthens the position of the wolf regarding his individuality. It analyses the various forms of agency, outlined by Mieke Roscher, that he (the wolf) performed during his lifetime and beyond. Wolf researchers focus not only on genetic analysis but also on telemetry to track wolf presence. Effects and consequences, such as changing attitudes towards wolves because of a personal encounter, also need to be viewed from a corporeal perspective, especially in the case of MT6.
