ABSTRACT
Jay Duckworth is a Renaissance man, a polymath. He is an explorer, artist, historian, psychologist, creator, innovator, astronomer, scientist, magician, master craftsman, philanthropist, educator, and mentor. Speaking to Duckworth is like opening an endless book full of philosophical anecdotes, fantastical theatre lore, detailed technical drawings, scientific recipes, inspirational quotes, and historical information. Duckworth began his professional career the day after high school graduation. Duckworth has had decades of fascinating theatrical experiences with fascinating theatrical legends, or as he calls them “Theatre Royalty.” Jay Duckworth continuously strives to try new technologies, experiment with different materials, and share his trials and tribulations of “propdom” with his peers. Jay Duckworth is an active participant in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and has served as a keynote speaker. As a member of a community, Jay believes that everyone should contribute in the way of community service.
