ABSTRACT

The chapter is focused on the potential of sustainable socioeconomic development in a rural part of Serbia through creative industries entrepreneurship. It provides for a better understanding of the creative industries’ contribution to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through data, results and lessons learned from two projects in Pirot, Serbia, in the period 2015–2017, the chapter provides insights into how creative industries entrepreneurship could advance the SDGs. Special attention is paid to the issues, challenges and recommendations related to the actions that should be taken in implementing SDGs in rural and less developed areas.
