ABSTRACT

As a consequence of the Erasmus programme, in a small country and language area, such as Denmark, all courses are now offered in the global lingua franca, English. These English courses are often attended by a few Danish students and a varying number of students from other countries. The course was presented as follows in the course catalogue of the Law Faculty of the University of Copenhagen: Course objective: The aim of this course is to contribute to the development of an emerging field of learning, which may be called world law or global law. In this course law is understood not as an objective and neutral entity, and not as a body of rules but as a cultural and normative dynamic process. The gendered and normative aspects of these contributions related to mixtures of modern, feminist, religious identity, immigration, cross-cultural and cross-religious marriages, military background, etc., in a globalized context, in a world after 11 September 2001.
