ABSTRACT

Since 2002, European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has been engaged in a major project to define an assessment and quality development scheme for corporate universities (CUs). This chapter describes Allianz Management Institute's (AMI) involvement with Corporate Learning Improvement Process (CLIP), and the issues and benefits from their perspective. The EFMD is a not-for-profit membership organization devoted to the improvement of management education in business schools and universities, and management development in companies. In the CLIP experience to date, CU managers have often found self-assessment difficult to understand and execute effectively. The heart of the CLIP system is the peer review process, and it is undoubtedly that the greatest value is added for the participating companies. The logic of CLIP is that the process does not necessarily end with the final report, but that it can be linked to the subsequent development of the CU.
