ABSTRACT

This chapter offers reassurance that, while the first couple of weeks of term are overwhelming for many new Geography students, your new life as an undergraduate will soon begin to seem familiar. It offers two key pieces of advice. First, enjoy Freshers' Week: make the most of this opportunity to make friends, as this will support your social transition to university. However, second, don't miss your first meeting with your tutor (it creates a terrible first impression) and don't miss the first lecture of each module, as this explains what the module is about, and so on. This will support your academic transition to university.
