ABSTRACT

Developing your note-taking skills is crucial to your success in studying Geography at university. In this chapter, we encourage you to overcome the urge to write everything down and instead focus on identifying the key points worthy of being added to your notes. We introduce several note-taking techniques, including mind-mapping, the Cornell note-taking system and the use of bullet points, capital letters, colour and underlining. We also discuss the importance of developing a system to organise your notes.
