ABSTRACT

Beginning university involves both an academic transition and a social transition. When it comes to social transitions, one of the big, early decisions you will have to make is where to live while studying for your Geography degree. In this chapter we outline the accommodation choices that new students are presented with at the start of their degree. We also discuss the links between where you decide to live, how you will make new friends, how you will interact with the university campus in the early weeks of term and, therefore, the impact of your accommodation choice on how you will settle into your new Geography degree course.
