ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides in-depth and relevant empirical research that investigates users’ perspectives when using mobile financial services (MFS) and other technologies, including downloadable applications. It presents historical as well as contemporary developments, innovations, laws and legislations, research, and analysis on the usage of mobile devices for banking and payment purposes as well as factors and consequences that impact the attitude, behaviors, beliefs, and abilities of consumers who adopt and continuously use MFS. The book considers an in-depth look at how the fast-emerging field of MFS contributes to the well-being of society, especially in developed and emerging market context, by exploring the significant benefits to consumers as well as financial institutions, FinTech, and other service providers. It suggests that the global trends including mobile devices and social media have led to a revolutionary change bringing drastic decline in traditional ‘brick and mortar’ business models.
