ABSTRACT

Many women in Nepal are suffering from a prolapsed uterus but do not share their problems due to fear of stigma. If detected at an early stage, uterine prolapse can be controlled by pelvic exercises. For severe cases the uterus should be removed. The number of suffering women will not decrease from existing curative management policy without either hammering the root causes, or without a clear vision and strategy. The chapter describes how some mobile camps in Nepal are run, and also quotes from interviews with women who have experiences uterine prolapse.
