ABSTRACT

This closing chapter discusses the main points arising from the book. These are concerned with outlining specific challenges and possibilities in improvisation pedagogy described by the contributing authors. The following questions lead the narrative of the discussion: What characterises learning in improvisation, what kind of development is afforded by improvisation, and what are the conditions? Key elements of agency, power, social context, and ethics are discussed. These elements are proposed as possible tools to facilitate drawing comparisons across different contexts.
