ABSTRACT

This chapter explores that as bad as climate change is, moving toward action requires facing it with a sense of hope of creating better futures. It presents a decision guide that illuminates the range of outcomes that are possible from green infrastructure and climate change policies. Practical guide is designed to help communities evaluate proposed projects, infrastructure and otherwise. One goal of this guide is to encourage communities to consider greener infrastructure choices by illuminating the range of values that projects serve. In order to begin evaluating a proposed or a built project, it is important to organize a group of people with varying interests, abilities and specialties. This process can be done with just a project proposal and basic background information on the site and community. The group can score different scenarios of a proposed project to see how the project's resiliency changes depending on planning and design.
