ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a historical overview of cultural diplomacy and China, with a focus on the modern and contemporary era. It highlights the significant and unique role played by art and performance, exhibitions and curation, collecting and exchange, as well as garden making in China–Australasia relations since 1949.
