ABSTRACT
In the event of the closure of any assisted reproductive technology clinic or semen bank before the expiry of the period of ten years under sub-section, the assisted reproductive technology clinic or semen bank shall immediately transfer the records to a central database of the Indian Council of Medical Research. Assisted reproductive technology clinics shall harvest oocytes in accordance with such regulations of the National Board or concerned State Board or any rule as may be prescribed under this Act. Subzonal insemination (SUZI), intracytoplasmic sperm injection and assisted hatching need micromanipulation of gametes. SUZI involves sperm injection in vitro, into the subzonal space of oocytes. The need to reduce the number of viable foetuses, in order to ensure the survival of at most two foetuses.
