Epeiros between Byzantium and the West in the Thirteenth and Early Fourteenth Centuries

Leonela Fundić sheds new light on aspects of cultural and artistic interaction between the Principality of Epeiros, as a state-successor of the Byzantine Empire, and its western ally states during the thirteenth and the early fourteenth centuries. In order to determine the extent of western influence on the artistic production of the Epeirote state, the author examines diverse visual evidence, including church architecture, sculpture and fresco decoration.
