ABSTRACT
This chapter concerns the role that grounding plays in normative ethics and metaethics. First, the chapter discusses whether first-order normative ethical theories are in the business of making claims about metaphysical grounding or a distinctively normative grounding relation. Second, it discusses whether the naturalism versus non-naturalism debate in metaethics is best characterized as a dispute about what metaphysically grounds normative facts.
