ABSTRACT
The epidermis of plant leaves shows characteristic and often specific patterns in the arrangement and shape of cells, stomata, silica bodies, hairs and prickles. The epidermal characteristics of grasses, which have taxonomical value have received much attention (Metcalfe, 1960).
