ABSTRACT

Within each of the global field-builders networks, in particular, there has been some sharing of expertise, models and best-practice guidance. Some of this networking occurs as a by-product of staff from other coalitions attending the major annual coalition conferences such as those of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), Business in the Community (BITC), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Europe and Instituto Ethos. Thought leadership and guidance on how to embed responsible business practice is made available to affiliated coalitions by the umbrella coalitions such as CSR Europe and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), which also profiles their affiliates and provides hot-links to their websites. One of the umbrella initiatives seeking to share expertise among the corporate responsibility coalitions is the CSR360 Global Partner Network (CSR360 GPN). Another "umbrella" network is Forum Empresa, which was created in 1997 and made up of corporate responsibility coalitions throughout the Americas from Canada to Chile.
