ABSTRACT

The Human Resources (HR) function is the key partner in embedding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability initiatives in any organisation, as this can be achieved only when a company educates, engages and empowers its entire workforce. This chapter proposes that the HR function has a responsibility to be proactive in leading the way in establishing a company-wide CSR-enabled culture. It provides the case study about the bussiness of a woman named as Sharon Black. CSR is becoming more of a profession and less of a non-standard recruitment requirement. One is the recruitment of CSR professionals and the other is the diversity of general recruitment. Gender equality is just one aspect of an overall culture of diversity and inclusion. Ensure recruitment processes are ethical, truly non-discriminatory, broad enough to reach a wide pool of diverse candidates and requiring qualifications that do not automatically exclude large sections of the eligible working population.
