Operationalising the Global Compact with a focus on the human rights principles: learning to walk the talk

The goal of this chapter is to demonstrate that the Global Compact represents one of the most important stages in the evolution of attempts to enhance the global private sector’s actions in the critical task of sustainable human development globally while respecting and promoting international human rights. However, as will be discussed, perhaps the greatest challenge in this evolutionary stage will be to operationalise the anti-complicity principle established in the human rights principles of the Global Compact.
