The Global Compact: promoting convergence in corporate responsibility

The field of corporate responsibility faces several significant challenges. First, in order to maintain momentum, convergence between initiatives and standards is necessary. Second, the field of corporate responsibility must deliver progress at the national, regional and sectoral levels in order to ‘drill down’ strategy and principles into concrete and localised action. The Global Compact is well positioned to address the dual challenges of convergence and localisation.
