ABSTRACT

By integrating public purposes and private-sector tools it is possible to allow the natural functioning of the economy to produce prosperity that is more equitable and more sustainable. By harmonising our development investments within environmental constraints while meeting the social needs of citizens it is possible to reduce the need for regulation while still increasing the wellbeing of the general public. EID proposes not only a more efficient use of resources, both private and public, but also a more effective means of meeting our needs as a society.
