ABSTRACT
The Oree Association has developed a set of tools with the help of work groups. These tools include a guide, Management environnementale des zones d'activites francophones, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme, Industry and Environment, and a technical specifications sheet on collective waste management by enterprise. Despite the many awareness-raising campaigns carried out in France, 95% of small and medium-sized enterprises continue to ignore environmental regulations. The main areas that have group waste collection programmes tend to be local industrial complexes. However, these programmes could also be applied to wider areas—to entire regions, for instance. To determine the type of waste collection method needed, a study of the accumulation of common non-hazardous industrial waste was carried out on all the industrial sites. A mail survey was also carried out among 720 enterprises in the industrial zone. A total of 70 responses were received.
