ABSTRACT
Technological advances can in themselves be tools to achieve superior environmental performance. Sometimes they come as a result of inevitable progress in technological innovation, sometimes by necessity, either governmentally encouraged or imposed, or, in the case of Sasol’s environmentally friendly diesel fuel, geographically imposed.
