ABSTRACT
Assembling large numbers of environmental activists at the December 1999 WTO (World Trade Organisation) meetings was made possible largely by the Internet. Many say the strength of such protests will only grow with the spread of the World Wide Web. For instance, a national training camp for environmental protesters was organised in the US during the spring 2000 school break via the Internet.
