ABSTRACT

This chapter begins by highlighting the power of Conversational Intelligence, and its role in the authors' first conversation with each other, and then together unpack key elements of Conversational Intelligence, and why these skills are important in responsible management education. It explores the different contexts for conversation in an age of technology before Judith shines a spotlight on the work of Angela Ahrendts, previous CEO of Burberry, who gave voice to the younger generation of "digital natives" as part of her transformation of a 150-year-old traditional British company to one of the world's most innovative global retailers. The chapter deals with practical ways in which Conversational Intelligence can be embraced and embedded as part of responsible management education and suggestions for how a "Conversational Dashboard" can be used to help students prepare for some of the difficult conversations they will undertake throughout their personal and professional lives.
